Mr. Ron Edwards, Assistant Principal of 11th and 12th Grade
Greetings Tigers,
I believe that educating young minds is a task that cannot be taken lightly. It is full of challenges,
moments of productive struggles, and responsibilities. However, it is a
task that is also full of excitement, wonder, and joy.
I firmly believe
that all students are capable of learning and I work hard to ensure
that they have the proper motivation, guidance, and support. As an
assistant principal, I work diligently to help students become craftsmen and architects of teaching and learning. A professional understanding of motivation, behavior, child development
theories, and learning strategies is at the center of my leadership
compass and I am passionate about helping our teachers and staff build
meaningful, positive, healthy, professional, and impactful relationships
with students so, together, we can help them reach their full
potential.
I
believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure,
caring, and stimulating atmosphere to grow and mature emotionally,
intellectually, physically, and socially.
To
help ensure students become college and career ready, I support our
students’ needs/desires to construct knowledge, as they thrive through
continuous opportunities for learning discovery and through practicing
hands-on skills in authentic and innovative learning situations.
My commitment to Alcovy includes:
-
Supporting and promoting academic, athletic, and artistic excellence
-
Creating opportunities for students to be independent, innovative, expressive learners.
-
Providing a non-judgmental platform for students to communicate their attitudes, values, and beliefs.
-
Advocating for the development and promotion of value for all students.
-
Encouraging collaborations with the community to build meaningful partnerships that will contribute to school improvement.
-
Promoting, supporting, and protecting the socio-emotional development/environment of all stakeholders.
-
Promoting the technological proficiency of all students, staff, and parents.
-
Providing opportunities for parental support, growth, and development.
-
Ensuring equity for all students
