Dr. Thomas Lowe - Assistant Principal and Athletics Director

Dr. Lowe began his educational career in 2004 as a paraprofessional
at Stephenson Middle School, with the Dekalb County School District.
Between 2004 through 2019, he has worked with Dekalb County School
District, Atlanta Public Schools, and Fulton County Schools.
During
his time in the previous school districts, Dr. Lowe has served in
various roles including: paraprofessional, special education teacher,
testing coordinator, assistant band director, basketball coach, tennis
coach, eLead (Technology Specialist), etc. Dr. Lowe was promoted out of
the classroom to instructional support specialist in 2018 at Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. High School.
In 2019, Dr. Lowe was
selected as assistant principal and athletic director at Alcovy High
School. While at Alcovy High School, Dr. Lowe has a strong desire to
help in creating a winning culture that will be rich in pride,
discipline, academic success, and creating post-secondary opportunities
for all students.
Dr. Lowe holds a Bachelor of Science in
Public Health from Clark Atlanta University, a Master of Arts in
Special Education from the University of Phoenix, an Educational
Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, and a
Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
Education was not Dr. Lowe’s original career path, as
the Atlanta native was previously employed as a lab technician at the
Centers for Disease Control, communications specialist and account
manager at AT&T Wireless, and audio engineer and music producer at
various production companies and recording studios. Once Dr. Lowe
entered into the field of education, he has not looked back and desires
to make a positive impact in the lives of all he comes across.
