AHS Counseling Department Mission Statement:   

        In partnership with parents and the school community, the mission of the Alcovy High School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that facilitates development in the academic, personal/social, and career planning realms. The goal of the AHS Counseling Department is promote students in becoming an active participant in today's global society.


Reasons to meet with your child's counselor:

  • Check your child's credits; to ensure your child is on-track for graduation when expected.
  • Discuss post graduation plans; college, military, or work force
  • Ask about credit recovery
  • Discuss the Dual Enrollment option
  • Request parent-teacher conferences
  • Course selections
  • Discuss other resources that may be available to you or your child such as mental health concerns, homelessness, grief and other concerns
